Why it matters.
 The United Way believes that strong families are the cornerstones to a vibrant community. Each year, new strategies are developed to help families confront and overcome serious problems that can break them apart and put children at a disadvantage in school - and in life.
We are committed to strengthening families so they can achieve greater self-sufficiency by developing and utilizing their own skills and knowledge. Our funded programs provide families, children and youth access to community resources needed to develop to their fullest potential, live safe and healthy lives, and contribute positively to society.

and their children. Counseling programs for victims and perpetrators of

United Way program offers free tax preparation to individuals and families making less than $56,000 per year. Also provides access to work supports such as food stamps, children's heath care, and utility assistance.
